Georgeham Parish Council wins Lottery cash for Climate Action
Georgeham Parish Council has been awarded nearly £10,000 from the National Lottery “Together for our Planet" fund to develop a long term climate action plan for the parish.

Georgeham Parish Council has been awarded nearly £10,000 from the National Lottery “Together for our Planet” fund to develop a long term climate action plan for the parish.The grant will fund a project coordinator with additional funds to carry out baseline surveys of domestic energy use, the potential for rooftop solar PV, and the current wildlife status of the parish. Matching funding is being sought to fund further baseline studies including an EV charging assessment. The project will last for 12 months at the end of which the parish will have developed a climate action plan aimed at reducing our net carbon emissions to zero by 2030/35.
We are looking for a Project Co-ordinator to develop and deliver a communications programme for this project ensuring that residents and visitors are fully informed about climate issues and engage with the developing climate action plan. They will also help to support the steering group, re-establish working groups on Food, Energy, Transport, and Biodiversity, and generally support the project.
