Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment (HELAA) Review
The Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment (HELAA) exercise run by North Devon and Torridge Councils this year - and ongoing drafting of a joint plan - has led to the Parish Council thinking about future development in the Parish and how this can best be achieved.
Attached is a document setting out the Parish Council’s views on this and current proposed HELAA land sites in the Parish, so that the Parish Community has an opportunity to provide feedback at this early stage in the process. Please email the Parish Clerk with any comments that you have on the proposals, the views expressed and also if you have any ideas of your own that you would like the Parish Council to consider.
The HELAA exercise has been extended and North Devon Council is still calling for landowners to come forward with land to be considered for future development. This can be done directly using this link.
Please note that the Parish Council can also put forward land as part of the HELAA exercise itself and will consider doing so if it the land is viewed as being in a suitable location – this would need consent of the landowner concerned. If any landowner would like to approach the Parish Council to consider doing this please contact the Parish Clerk: clerk@georgehamparishcouncil.gov.uk.
